This bar / restaurant is lovely - it is opposite the entrance to the market square. When you go through the door you see the old and and very attractive bar. There is a separate dining area that is slightly more modern and spacious if you prefer, but you can eat in the bar. It is very popular on market day, which is Wednesday. There is a new host who offers midweek meals for 12 and weekend meals at 16. He is Belgian I believe and speaks a little English. updated April 6th 2008
We went here one June day a couple of years ago and had an excellent meal. You can sit inside in the large restaurant or outside on the precinct which is surrounded by trees. Excellent service and food. If you like salads (or if you thought salads were boring) you should try this place. Very reasonably priced. Highly Recommended added June 2005
Friendly and excellent service. Good food and very reasonable prices - about 10 euros. Fixed menu, as is often the case (but changes daily). Recommended added March 2005 2007
The restaurant at Sarzay - near La Chatre. Weekend menu is "a la carte" and works out at about 16 - 20 per person - weekday menu is around 11. Friendly fast service, but not "in your face". The food was the best I have had so far - I had their steak and it was simply divine. For a starter I had a country ham and blue cheese salad which was also superb. Outstanding view and value for money. Highly Recommended. added October 2007
