ANCIENT BOGWOOD: The influence for this piece came from a stone age flint tool found by my good friend in woodland close to her home. The quality of strength in such a tiny fragment of stone was extraordinary.

I have used bog oak for the main shape. Bog oak is extremely strong and the quality and depth of colour was the obvious choice to replicate the timelessness of the piece.

I have mounted it relatively simply, twisting shapes in sterling silver which complement the gerneral line of the work.
