LIBERTY LAKES - LOCAL AREA INFORMATION We
are lucky to be surrounded by beautiful towns and villages,
chateaux, lakes (sports and fishing), walking and cycling paths as
well as many leisure facilities. We may be in the heart of the
country but there is much to see and do. |

 We
are located very close to the beautiful medieval town of La Châtre
which has a superb weekly market on Saturday mornings. Nearby is the
superb picturesque castle of Sarzay, lovingly restored
single-handedly by a rather eccentric Parisian over the last 30
years.Other
places well worth a visit include
Drulon and
Orsan gardens,
Anaiy-le-Vieil
chateau,
Boussac for its chateau and superb market on
a Thursday, and
Culan chateau. For family days out there is
Le Pal
water park and
Beauval and
La Haut Touches zooparks as well as
Bananaparc
near Orsennes which offers young children bouncy cantles
galore, mini-quad bikes and pony rides plus for older family members
a nice pool with bar facilities and sandy volley-ball area.
For a quiet moment to
the country visit Parc des parelles that has 5 walks of different
lengths through managed woodlands or perhaps the unique Pierres
Jaumatres - a land of giant boulders surrounded by myth and legend.
